Bring It All To God...In Prayer.

“God shapes the world by prayer. The more praying there is in the world, the mightier the forces against evil. The prayers of God’s people are the capital stock of heaven by which God carries on His great work upon the earth. God conditions the very life and prosperity of His cause on prayer.” E.M. Bounds

I believe that the mission and ministry of Leverage Women is near to the heart of the Father and He has ordained us as a collective of women for such a time as this to make a significant difference in our cities, our province, and nation. Sometimes as leaders we can feel so overwhelmed by the magnitude of the need all around us and yet I confidently know that what God has called us to do, He has equipped and graced us to do.

I am reminded of the words my friend, Bobbie Houston spoke at a women’s conference where we were strongly confronted by the desperate state of affairs all over the world. In a hushed moment, she heard a whisper from Heaven say, ‘Let prayer do the heavy lifting’.

Let prayer do the heavy lifting - what does that look like for us as leaders?

As we carry a deep conviction about the character and heart of God, we will come boldly and confidently before Him and trust Him with everything that concerns us.  We expect Him to respond to us because He is faithful, He is good, He is loving and full of compassion and mercy. He will never fail or disappoint us – He never has, and He never will.

Jesus gave us a glorious invitation to prayer when He asked us to bring all of our cares, concerns, and burdens to Him – He assured us that by joining our lives to His, we would find rest and refreshment for our weary hearts and souls.

I often think of a hymn that I learned as a young girl and it continues to speak to me often decades later:

‘What a friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer
Oh what peace we often forfeit, oh what needless pain we bear
All because we do not carry everything to God in prayer.’

I would love to invite you to join together in prayer as we trust God to lead us into the future of Leverage Women. Together, let’s lean into the promptings of the Holy Spirit and pray with faith and expectancy as the journey continues to unfold before us.

Also, let’s pray specifically about the upcoming Leverage Retreat October 17-19,  which will be a powerful time of gathering as leaders from many different places, which will catapult us forward into great days ahead.

Let’s pray together…

  • Pray for the leaders in our churches and neighbourhoods
  • Pray for the women who volunteer and lead in the ministries we serve
  • Pray for the retreat planning team – for unity, clarity, and capacity for all that needs to be done
  • Pray that God will make a way for each person who needs to be there to come
  • Pray for the retreat to be a time of refreshing, saturated with unique, personal moments and encounters with the Holy Spirit for each woman attending
  •  Pray to be equipped and empowered by God’s word
  •  Pray to be inspired by His promise
  •  Pray for divine connections to be made and lifelong friendships to be forged

We will explore more on Prayer at our P3 retreat October 17-19, 2018.  If you would like to register, please click HERE.

“Again I say to you, that if two [h]believers on earth agree [that is, are of one mind, in harmony] about anything that they ask [within the will of God], it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered in My name [meeting together as My followers], I am there among them.” (Matthew 18:19-20 Amplified Bible)
